Questions about Sapphire Radeon 9100

I'd never thought I'd start a thread like this but,

I recently bought a Sapphire 9100 128mb card. It's going pretty well so far and I'm fairly happy with it. The performance is great for a budget card. I'm having a couple of issues with it though, and I'm wondering what I can do to fix them.

Freedom Force has weird rendering issues. The shadows do not render well at all and make the game look a little strange. I've tried the driver's off the CD and the latest off ATI's website. I don't have anything else installed on my system besides UT2K3 (which runs wonderfully) so I'm not sure whether the other games I play are ok. Is there a particular driver revision I should be running that is more compatible?

Also, I'm having 2D image quality issues. When I bump the res up to 1600*1200 @ any refresh rate, I get weird banding on the monitor that scrolls down the screen. I never had this with my old video card (Hercules GF2MX) and I tried it out on another monitor with the same results. Which brings me to my next point, how do I set my screen resolution to 1280*960? I can set it to everything but that, which is annoying as 1280*1024 is not an option and I like my desktop real estate, the next highest 4:3 res to run being 1152*864.

If I can get it to run at 1280*960 I will be happy to keep the card until I upgrade next, which is only a month or two off anyway. Otherwise I think I will return it so I can run 1600*1200 again.

If anyone can answer any of my questions I'd be grateful.

I use Rage3D Tweak to add 1280X960 resolution,I hate the fact that with the same drivers but with a 9500 card that res is there by default & on my 8500 I have to add it manualy.

Use rage3d go into custom res and enable 1280X960 then reboot & it will be there for you to use.

as for your texture problems, try using the latest drivers from ATI and install DirectX 9.0a

I'll try the Rage3d tweak when I get home, thanks for that. I'm still getting used to the whole ATI thing :)

I've got DirectX9.0a installed as well as the latest ATI drivers. It's also a shadow problem not a texture problem. I can post screens when I get home.
