Both are what is called synthetic benchmarks and should not be confused with how it will perform in real world apps...that said...
Look at cpu/ multimedia & memory bandwidth...the rest such as cd-rom and harddrives are better done in other test...Unless there is something seriously wrong you wont see much with the cpu...should run like every othing like mhz cpu (fsb similar)...
One thing they seem to be good for is when tweaking with settings in bios they are a fast test to see if it is a factor or not...
3dmark2001...same thing...Just go to madonions site and look for comparable systems ( i mean comparable...ie harddrives, ram, ocing or not, vid card chipset, and cpu speed (w/ fsb)) If you are much n\more then 15 percent below average it may be a sign of some driver or other hardware issues....
Just remember...it isn't a true measure of performance and stability...
