Questions about RDRAM and my motherboard

Folks,
I just got an MSI 6545 ver 1.0 motherboard Link to board I have some questions when it comes to RDRAM installation. I'm lost when it comes to the manual telling me about the memory configuration. I would like to install this configuration:

1-128mb
1-64mb or possibly 256mb
1-64mb
1-64mb

All memory is PC800. Can I do it?

Here's from the manual....

o Support RIMM only
o To operate properly, make sure that the RIMM banks are using the same type and equal size density memory (IS THIS IMPLYING MATCHED MB SIZE OR JUST THAT ALL MEMORY MUST BE PC800?)
o Install two RIMM modules eith on RIMM 1 and RIMM 2 or on RIMM 3 and RIMM4 slots

The manual further states "You can install two or four RIM modules in the following combination and then lists a chart for 32mb-512mb for all four sockets.

Bottom line of what I need to know: It seems that I must populate 2 or 4 RIMM slots, not 1 or 3 slots. Can I populate all 4 slots with different mb sizes of PC800?

Thanks in advance,

Aceman

The memory controller uses two banks of memory to simulate a single memory architecture that have twice the bandwidth. For that to work, the memory in similar banks MUST have the same structure and speed, or both must support the speed used by system.
This means that you must have identical size on both modules (but this does not guarantee to function). You can't have:
1a 64 MB
1b 64MB
2a 128 MB
2b 64MB

Hope this help
