Questions about RAID, Cable Select/MASTER - etc on a ATA100 drive

I have an IBM 75GXP 75GB hard drive, and its running a tad slower thaaan the reference ATA100/7200 drive bench in Sandra.

Exactly 6,000 points less (18,000 vs 24,000)

I'm trying to make this drive run faster...

I have an ABIT KG7-RAID with the Highpoint RAID Controller

If I ran my single 75GXP off of the RAID, would I get more performance?

Also, which jumper setting should I use - Cable Select or Master - for optimum performance?

According to Paul's KG7-RAID page, Cable Select is preferred for max performance...

I need help with this stuff!
