I think some gameshark,Action replay,ect uses some USB stuff. You can load exploits from USB thumb drive using newer versions of swapmagic. Headsets from Socom might use it? Don't know about that one. Maybe some racing wheels? IMO it's a feature Sony added which was never really needed but they put it in just in case. Half of the ports on the newer gen consoles coming out probably won't be used either.

BTW I heard there is a new app out that allows you to hook a external HDD to boot games from(made mainly for the Slim version) HDD.

Can't Gran Turismo 4 send screenshots of your cars to a USB drive ? I think I heard that somewhere, but I can't verify as I sold my PS2 a loong time ago.

Back in the day I used a program called BroadQ Media Player (which later became gameshark media player). If I remember correctly it would let you hook up certain brands of usb keyboards and use them on the usb port (but like I said this was a long time ago, I can remember messing with it and I ?think? I finally got it to work, heh).

also, back when i played socom, i plugged my Mic and keyboard into there

oh ok

i was thinking maybe you could save your save files on a thumb drive from your mem card

then perhaps transfer over the net or somthing of the sort
