Questions about overclocking

I was almost positive of what I was going to buy, but now I'm confused. I need a few things cleared up.

Running a NF7-S motherboard and a mobile 2600+, I don't know what type of ram I should buy.

I see most people buying PC-3200 ram, and that will run perfectly with the motherboards FSB of 400MHz. People then overclock it to, say, 220(440).

What do they do to get it to overclock to that speed? The motherboard doesn't say it supports that speed of ram and the ram doesn't clock at that speed, so do they overclock both the ram and the motherboard?

I'm confused if I should buy pc-3500 so i can OC to 220 easier than pc-3200 would do.

Also, is there any reason to spend the extra money on the 2600+ as opposed to the 2400+? I've heard they overclock the same, so what's the point?

In the bios you can adjust the fsb. The memory will run at the same speed as the fsb unless you set a divider...which is very bad for performance on the Athlons.

My NF7 (rev 2.0) won't go much past 220 fsb...and this seems to be pretty common so it's up to you. Some good PC3500 would be a good choice...but some good PC3200 might do 210-220 fsb. Personally I would just get some quality PC3200 that does tight timings and be happy with 205-210 fsb. You probably won't notice the extra 10 mhz bus speed and your ram might do 220 with extra voltage anyways.

I went for the 2600 over the 2400 simply because it was only what....$12 more? From what I've read the 2600's are just a little bit better overclockers, but of course a lot depends on the chip you happen to receive.
