Questions about number porting.

I have some quick questions regarding number portability. My old cell phone plan is under my mom's name, address, and SSN. I want to keep the same number but I want to do my name, address, and SSN, which are all different from hers. Is this possible or do I have to keep the same info? This will be going from Alltel to Tmobile. Oh, also, my old account is not active, meaning I don't have a cell phone right now, but I called Alltel and they said they would hold my number for 6 months. My mom still receives bills from Alltel every month for $0.00. Thanks.

To keep the same number, you will have to use your mom's info for at least the first billing cycle, after that, just ask to have the account transfered to you, I hope this helps a bit 🙂

YES! I did this. Your mother must sign up a new T-Mobile account, port the number from Alltel, then you and her can go to a T-Mobile retail store and fill out a "Change Of Responsibility" form which will put the T-Mobile account with the number you want under your name/address/SSN.
