I currently use an old timeport which has vibrating battery, which is really the only reason I use it over my 6190.I would like to get one of those vibrating batteries so I know when a call comes in. I have a couple of questions:

1. Is there an option where you selecting vibrate and then ring? Sometimes I don't have my phone on me, and this option comes in really useful.

2. I've heard that vibrating batteries aren't good for the 6190. What are the reasons? I've been looking on eBy, and some claim that they don't reduce the life of the battery.

Thanks
Dan

I have a nokia 252 (I know, much older than the 6190), but its only vibration options are Vibrate or Vibrate+Ring (at the same time). Then again my phone is older so they might have added your feature in the 6190.

The vibrating battery is a piece of junk. Develops a memory far too quickly, if you charge it like a Li battery. Plus the vibration of the 6190 is too weak to actually feel it.

I'm using the Nokia 6190 right now with a vibrating battery. Here's some info for you

1. I don't think that there's an option where the phone vibrates and then rings. It's either one of the two that you have to choose.

2. I've been using this vibrating battery for about 3 months now and I've had no problems so far.

I bought my battery from a company that sells on egay. it only cost me about 13 bucks and it's a Lithium-Ion at 1000mAh. I think nokia sells these for over $50. Of course the quality for a cheap battery is not as good as other ones, but i figured i couldn't go wrong for $13.

pm me if you have more questions

My mom has had this phone for ~ a year, and she hasn't had any problems with it. It came with the vibrating battery (the one that lasts the longest). The 6190 works with profiles. You set up profiles, and can then change between them by pressing once on the power button. It's very easy.

I know it can be setup to ring, vibrate, ring+vibrate, or nothing at all. Don't know if it can vibrate first, then start to ring though, but I doubt it.
