Hi, I am new here. I just bought some new components for my computer and I just wanted to get some feedback about my choices. This is what I got, I already have water-cooling, GeForce 7900 GTX EXTREME and a 620 watt PS. I plan on overclocking. Also what effect will speed stepping have on the CPU?
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor ? Retail
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DQ6 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

Welcome to the forums!

looks like you have a pretty good system..
what brand psu is it? Also..I would have gone with an 8800gts instead of that 7900...
other than that...looks alright, I dont know much about that motherboard though...
Stepping and batch pretty much tells you around how high your cpu can overclock. You can ask around in different forums if anyone has overclocked your stepping and basically get a feel of what your max oc is.
