questions about networking, serial to serial port, or USB to USB port?

i'm talkin about just networking 2 computers with one cable, no cards, router, hub


1.how fast can u get with either of these(mb/s,mb/min)?

2.will games (mainly what i'd use it for) recognise this as a LAN?

3.anything else i should know?
 
Connecting two Computers without the Use of Ethernet Devices.

You have two options.

1. Direct connect, using parallel or serial ports.

You can not connect two computers using regular USB cable.

In some cases, such a connection will probably damage the motherboards of the two computers.
