Questions about networking in Windows XP Pro

Hi. A buddy of mine just picked up a Dell system with Windows XP Pro for his wife. All he wants to do is network this computer with his Windows 98SE system. I currently don't have a XP system running, so I can't remember what to tell him. BTW.. He's using a Netgear router to share cable internet, but I don't think that makes a difference. Here is what he wrote...

I've got the new PC hooked up to my network but can't get it in the same
workgroup as the other two. XP wants to run an XP connection wizard for
the host PC (none of these are the actual host) and then run the program on
all client PC's (XP is not on those two). What happened to the Network
Neighborhood? All I need to do is sync this one PC up to my network. Any
ideas?

If someone could put this into words on how to network the two computers, it would be most appreciated!

TIA,

Sal

If he is just looking on how to change the Workgroup Name in WinXP,
go to:

Start \ Control Panel \ System \ Network Identification \ Properties \ Workgroup

Also, he needs to have File and Printer Sharing for MS Networks installed,
and must make an account for each of the other PC's under WinXP if he wishes
to share between the PC's.
