I've never owned a good video card, so what kind of things should I expect outta my card? (Leadtek WinFast GeForce 2 Pro)

I have a feeling I'm gonna crap my pants when I open the display properties. I downloaded the latest drivers from nVidia's site (21.83) and some program called NVMax for OC'ing. What are some optimal settings? (bios, windows tweaks, dvd tweaks, etc)

Also, I know that people say the 2D isn't that great with the GF2. I only plan to run at 1024x768 @ 32-bit @ 85 Hz, not at 1600x1200 like others that complain about the 2D. Should I be alright?

Anything else I should know?

If you get lockups when you try to run 3D stuff after installing your card, you might want to try the registry fix. I don't remember what it's called but I have it stashed someplace. I had a problem with my BX board (Soyo 6BA +IV) and a GF2 until I used the reg fix to force 1X AGP. Somewhere there's a GeForce FAQ around but I don't remember where it is and I'm about to go to sleep.
I'm sure it will turn out to be something like geforcefaq.com and I'll feel dumb next time I look at this thread! :)

ach nein!

D00d...use Winfast's WinFOX program...(d/l the lastest version--2.0 from their website if it's not on the CD)...it works TONS better than NVMax IMO, and it gives you temperature monitoring (tho this only works in win 9x i think...dunno about xp)

It's very easy to use...enable OCing, slide the bars up, apply, and you're good to go :)

2D-wise, that card will do just fine in 1024x768 2D...it's not really bad in 1600x1200 either...try it and see for yourself :)
