Hi guys,

As you can see in my sig, I have an MSI KT3 Ultra MainBoard, which has worked superbly for 1 1/2 years, but recently I took out my XP 2100+ while cleaning my computer. I cleaned out the whole thing, installed a new power supply, ATA IDE card, harddrive, etc, and re-thermalized my proc. After installing it, my D-Link showed that, on the first boot-up attempt, it would stall for a second, beep, and then stall at the "processor initialization" stage. Then, it tried to boot up again, and the HSF alarm went off. I am getting a new chip from AMD, and I want to know, does this sound like a problem with the mobo at all? Everything else seems to work (fans, power, etc)

Thanks

Jacob

Sounds more like a problem seating the heatsink. Also did you notice if the cpu HSF was spining? I've been warned by others that using compressed air on the fans can cause damage if allow them to spin while blowing them clean.
