questions about memtest86

so i have NO idea.. what this all means..
im running memtest86 on my computer
L1 Cache 128kb 14345 MB/S
L2 Cache 512kb 4567 MB/S
Memory 512mb 971 MB/S

so what does this all mean? why is the #'s on L1 so high and 512mb on ram so low?

i have a amd xp-m 2400@ 2338mhz 166x14
my ram is corsair valueram 512mb PC2700

please info me!

so far i have NO errors on memtest86..
my O/C is stable on Prime95 that tests CPU most..
but when i do BLEND test i have 100 warnings within the first test

thanks

That's your CPU cache. It's always going to be faster than system memory.

Do you mean you get errors in Prime95 when running the blend test? Did you run the extended test in Memtest or just the standard?

there is a extended memtest? i just let the memtest thing run itself so i guess it is standard

and YES on blended for prime95 i get 100 warnings on the first test
but if i choose the first option on prime95 it is fine

arent those mb/sec = bandwidth? if so why is my bandwidth for memory 971mb/s when the bandwdith is supposed to be 2700mb/s it just doesnt make sense

Don't worry too much about the numbers it gives. A tester like SiSoft Sandra will give you more accurate results for bandwidth. If you're seeing errors with the extended tests or Prime95's "Blend" torture test, you're pushing your FSB and/or timings too far, or your CPU is overclocked too far (although if it passes the other Prime95 torture tests, it's probably just the RAM). Back everything off to stock and see if it works there...
