On another forum, there is a debate on what JBOD is. I was always under the impression that JBOD spans multipe disks to create one virtual drive, in essence making only one drive letter.

Three other people think that it is just individual disks each assigned their own drive letter.

Am I totally misunderstanding what JBOD is, because every where I look seems to think that JBOD does span.

I know the people here are top notch so I know I can get the best answer here.

Thanks

JBOD (just a bunch of drives)

i'm pretty sure it takes all the drives and creates it as one image.

Yes, it creates one large volume from multiple drives. It's like RAID-0 without striping and it's also called spanning.
