Folks:

If I burn an iTune song to a CD is the DRM "key" also written to the CD?

I'm lead to believe that I can strip the iTune DRM "key" from a song by burning it to a CD and then ripping that CD. I'm trying to figure out if the DRM "key" is:

1. removed when the song is burned to the CD or
2. written on the CD as part of the song and removed during the ripping process?

If it's burned as an Audio CD, then it'll be DRM free. If you burn the .m4p files to the CD as a data cd, then the files will be DRMed. Just burn it as an Audio CD and rerip.

If you want to make a .mp3 version of the m4p file, download/buy tunebite... that's what I use and I like it quite a bit.
