Questions about Fedora...

There is probably a better forum on the internet to ask this question (point me there!), but does anybody know how to find out what all is included with the new release of "Fedora Core 1?" At 3 CD's and 5.3 gb for full install, I'm assuming that it is pretty comparable to the latest RH's.

But what I couldn't specifically find out from the release notes linked by /. is the version of Samba included with this release. Anyone know?

Also, is this just a "beta" or is it a relatively stable release, and if so would it be considered a point release, aka RH 9.x or an integer release, aka RH 10.

You can find the package list for Beta 3 here. Any changes in Final should be listed in the Release Notes.

From the package list above, 3.0.0.

It's as stable as Fedora is promising to be. How stable that is, no one knows yet.

From the looks of Beta 3, I would definitely say 9.x. Basically, packages were just updated to the most recent version, but I didn't notice any really substantial changes.

Thanks, especially for pointing me to the list of packages included!

I tend to agree that this is kind of a 9.x, but in the replies to the /. article, I've seen some calling it the RH 10. Well, I never did quite understand the jump from 9 to 10.

An integrated install of Samba 3 is all that really matters to me. I want to start playing around with the support for Win2k AD.
