Questions about Fargo..

What was the point of that wacko Japanese guy who wanted to get with Marge?

Is it ever explained what Jerry needed the money for?

Does Jerry's wife actually die? If so, are we to make anything about the fate of her son?

What's up with the title?

He needed the money for a real estate investment, it was shown for a long time how he wanted to get money from his father-in-law and got denied.

So he had his wife kidnapped and risked her life just so he could make a few bucks? It seems like you'd have to be in trouble with the mafia or something in order to go to that extent.

But if that is the case, he intended on borrowing what's supposed to be $2million from her dad? Why couldn't he get the lump sum from one or the other of his plans?

The absurdity of the characters make the movie good.

Her dad didn't care much for Jerry, he would only give the money to save his daughter.

Jerry is constantly fending off calls from some creditors of his (when he's deliberatly writing VIN's to be illegible . . . he must have taken a loan with some of the dealer's cars, and is fudging the VIN so they won't come take them . . . .

Jerry's wife dies. The crazy German kills her.

Takes place in Fargo.

I forgot about the Japanese guy. edit: I vaguely remember. Just some creep trying to win back a highschool crush with lies.
