Questions about ebay motors

Placed a bid on an ATV. It's about 6 hours away, I had planned on buying a trailer and driving up there..

Or should I just have it shipped? The online quote I got from the ebay link was like $3000 to ship it.. so if it's really that high it wouldn't be possible.. That's about what I'm paying for it.

Anybody bought something like this? How'd you get it home?

shipping would be only be like a grand max.

What i'd do is rent a uhaul trailer and just make a day trip out of it.

Hadn't considered RENTING a trailer...

I know I'm retarded.

Is it hard to install a hitch and stuff... should I take my van somewhere to have that done?

A hitch should cost about $150 max from U-Haul; installed

You also may be able to rent a hitch and trailer depending on the type of bumper.

why not just rent a uhaul that's a mini trailer that you can drive... so you won't need to drive your own car.

Also a good idea. Just drive it into a box truck.

I know u-hauls are stupidly expensive for the crappy service they give, at least that's what I remember from the last time I had to rent from them...

1. Unless you live at the edge of BLM land, you will need a trailer anyway.

2. Think about this stuff before bidding.

3. Borrow a friends pickup, get some ramps, and just drive it home.

My mom needs one, so after doing research I bid on one that looked good. If I get it at that price it's a good deal.

I'm not frightened that I couldn't figure out something if no one responded, I'm just using the limited contacts I do posess to the fullest.

Many people would ask their friends over beers, since I have no intimate acquaintances, I ask here, as it's the closest I do have. (No friends == no friends pickup 🙂 )

$3000 is entirely too much. I've shipped a car from Virginia to San Diego for slightly over $1000. Definitely just rent something instead to pick it up.
