Just ordered one of the 60mmX38mm 8kRPM fans and had a couple of questions:

1. If you are currently using one, how is it, I have seen nothing but good about it other than the noise and was wondering if the performance made up for the volume.

2. Does it come with the 3-to-4 pin adapter?

Most vendors include a 3-pin to 4-pin adapter. They should say on the site whether or not they include one. It is noisy as all hell, but the performance is great. It make your entire case rattle and vibrate if its flimsy at all.
 
it's one noisy beast. There are ways to quiet it down w/o sacraficing performance. Depends on your heatsink. If you post your heatsink, i can see if i remember some =). It usually invoves getting rid of the vibration that the fan causes against the heatsink.
