Questions about CS:GO

how do people talk and play at the same time? The default key for speech is "K" I'm guessing people change it. To what?

And, what is this marketplace thing. Doesn't it make the game imbalanced if people pay for better guns, or are the changes purely aesthetic?

Not specifically for CS:GO, but when I used to play MMO my push-to-talk button is one of the thumb buttons on my mouse. It worked perfectly.

I think the mic option also has a setting to "auto detect", removing the need for a key press. Don't know how well it works though.

Well in other mmo's with p2t i use mouse button 4... aka the back button on the side...

Because your thumb is always usually free unless u have it bounded to something else.

Thumb button = PTT for me as well. I have two thumb buttons so one is group chat (or teamspeak) and the other is team chat (or in game voip)

This is what a lot of people do, including myself. However if you're being competitive it's worth noting that mapping functions to your mouse buttons can put off your aim slightly when you're using them.

If you're using WASD and not using shift of CTRL for anything they make quite good push to talk keys, providing you have good dexterity in your pinky finger.

in CSGO shift is bound for walking and CTRL is bound to crouch, both of which are fairly necessary. So he'd have to rebind one of those.

purely aesthetics...

cs:go is one of the few games which truely has no p2w.

Yeah just aesthetics, I have a couple hundred dollars worth of skins on my account right now, they just look nice.

Sure by default, but there's nothing stopping you changing them to something else. One thing some competative gamers do is move all their keys over a few, so instead of WASD they'll move those keys to something like TFGH and that gives you more keys to the left of your movement and again if you have good dexterity in your pinky finger that gives you many more options while still being able to move/strafe at the same time.

The auto transmit is handy but you have to be super careful to configure that with a good auto transmit volume because some people mess that up and are transmitting nearly all the time which just causes everyone to mute them for being a dumbass. While it's handy always be cautious with that.
