Questions about cooling and noise (Apex case vs. an Antec case)

I'm going to build my first system soon (first that I built), with the following specs:
AMD Athlon 1800+
Maxtor DiamondMax 40 60GB 7200RPM
Abit NV7-133R (with 3 phase power converter, which should help keep it cool)
ATI Radeon 32MB DDR (pulled from old computer)

My first questions are about cooling, I do not plan on overclocking this system so how much attention to cooling do I need to make?
Is one rear case fan sufficient, or would I need more? Would the retail HS/Fan combo be sufficent, or would I need to buy a better one?
Would I need to get a case with front vents like the Antec PP660 for better circulation?

The two cases I'm currently looking are the Apex TU-124 and the Antec PP660 (or maybe the 660B if the extra side fan is important).
My main issues in buying a case are that it have front USB, be quiet, and be cool. And when I say quit, I mean quit. My current computer (an ancient PII-350) is damn near silent, and I want my new computer to be as quiet, or very close to it.
I've heard some very good things about the Antec 660B, but it would cost about $55-$60 (depending on which model Antec) more than the Apex (the Apex is $50 at local store, while the Antec is $105-110 including S+H from online store).
So I'd like to know if the Antec is twice as good as the Apex. I'll get the Antec if it is significantly quieter than the Apex, or if the Apex would take a lot more effort to be properly cooled than the Antec.

I'm also open to other case suggestions, if anybody knows of a better solution for me (just keep the price <= $100 US).
Also, I just saw that Maxtor has what they call "Quiet Drive" versions of their DiamondMax D740X line. Any of you know how much quiter they really are?
