Questions about cooling a core 2 processor

I Ordered a q6600 with g0 stepping from clubIT. Is this supposed to run cooler than normal q6600s?

Also, is the stock cooler decent? I read about how most coolers can be installed just by pushing the attachment limbs into the four holes by the CPU socket, but some have more complicated mounting procedures. For the stock cooler, do I have to remove the motherboard to mount a mounting bracket on the back?

I've heard that the G0 runs cooler than the older B3.

For the stock sink you don't need to remove your mobo, just has that 4 pushpin brilliance intel came up with. And while it may do OK, the stock sink isn't all that great. Don't expect to OC much on it

Thanks for your help. I might just keep the stock heatsink, and when I do decide to OC, I will buy another heatsink that hopefully also is easy to install.

Other misc n00b questions I have so I don't take up space with a new thread:
1. What is the difference between a system fan and an auxillary fan? They are labelled differently in my Mobo manual, the system fan slot is close to the processor.
2. If I decide to purchase a side fan, should I set it up so it is an intake fan or an outtake fan?

With good case airflow you really don't need a side fan unless you would like to push a heavy overclock on the G0. I've got the 6750 G0 and its truly awesome how cool they run. It's even better that they take minimal volts to run @ default speed (mine takes 1.20V). I've seen others that find this true as well. With good airflow your stock sink will net you a decent OC on your q6600. However, you'd do much better with an aftermarket HSF and some AC5.
