Questions about an old compaq deskpro 2000 p133 comp.

It is possible to upgrade the cpu to a pentium 2 266mhz processor. I don't know what type of slot is used with the p133, i am guessing a slot 1. Does anyone have any suggestions on any upgrades i can do to this comp. I don't have the computer, and i am sorry i can not give more detailed info. Thanks in advance!!!

looks like it goes up to a 233 mHz pentium, the p2 systems used a different board (slot 1)

you might be able to do something from powerleap

powerleap cpu upgrades

but whenever I looked in to that option, it was usually cheaper just to buy a new motherboard.

The Pentium 133 that's in there uses a Socket 7 socket, while the Pentium 2 uses Slot 1. Totally incompatable with each other.

It's not really worth spending any money to upgrade a P133 - it would cost as much as just going out and buying a used Pentium 2 system, if that's what you want...
