Questions about 3rd party toner cartridge refills for color laser printer

I have a Minolta 2300W color laser printer that's going to need new color toner cartridge refills soon. I can buy them from Minolta for about $400, or I can get a 3rd party toner refill kit for about $125 or so...

My question: What are the caveots regarding 3rd party toner refills? I know the issues regarding inkjet refills (and the colors for inkjet refills are rarely exactly the same, nor are the inks as colorfast or durable). But I don't know much about toner refills.

Are the chances good the colors will be the same as for the OEM cartridges? How about durability of the prints? Are some 3rd party toner sources better than others (uh, duh...) Can someone recommend a 3rd party source that's both relatively inexpensive and high quality?

Thanks,

I got a toner refill kit for my Minolta 1350w. My advice: Don't do it. A lot of people's (including myself) catridge started leaking the toner and it was a major PITA to clean everything up. I ended up buying a new Minolta Catridge. I don't know about 3rd party catridges tho. Those might work better.

What caused the cartridge to leak? How did you refill it? The Minolta 2300W cartridges have a screw that you remove to refill the cartridges. I know some cartridges require you to melt a hole in them, or other shenanigans like that...
