Hmm I was wondering if any one could tell me if I need a new power supply. I have an Asus P2B-S mobo with p3 600 and 192mb of ram voodoo3 3000 pci. Last night when I went to bed it was working great. When I got up this mprning the screen was black and the power lights were alll on on the computer. It had hard locked and the only way to shut it off is to un plug it. Ok so I try to reboot and it does the same thing! I clear the cmos and it does the same thing. I pull the cpu and replace with p2 350 and same thing. I pull the video and the memory and try on different mobo and this time it works (original gateway mobo that came with pc).

The computer has a 200 watt max power supply from gateway. I have an sb512 pci, Linksys ethernet card, promise fasttrack66, voodoo3 3000, 192mb of ram, p3 600, 13gb maxtor u66 hdd, mitsumi 32x cdrom, (and a partridge in a pear tree. j/k). Any way I was wondering if the power supply can handle all of this. It had worked for a 2 weeks prior. I dont think the mobo is bad but who knows.

This computer is actually an old one that I had sold to my room mate. We had recently upgraded to the p2b-s and a 600mhz p3. It cost $200 for the cpu and mobo and now Im wondering if we got screwed.

Oh and one other thing. When I plug in the power the damn thing tries to power up automatically. It does not wait for me to hit the button. That is why I am thinking power supply but it could very well be the mobo.
