You always hear people telling us don't be such wussies, I had it harder in my day. Don't cry, you're lucky. Mainly in regards to standards and practices in education, work and social lives.

Did your parents have it that much harder? Or have they forgotten what it was like growing up?

I personally think we become jaded as we get older and do forget about the little things like self-esteem and one on one attention.

yeah, my parents really did. i'm blessed that my life has been easier than theirs and i have had more opportunities than they had.

Life is easier now that it ever was....

Which is why the gene pool is stagnating and Bush got in office. When the apocalypse comes I'm going to survive by eating vegetarians.

LMAO........and the apocolypse will come.

Life truely is easy for people now. Even the homeless and crack addicts get free meal and shelter.

I think it was probably easier for my parents then It was for me. They both came from middle class families and didn't really run into financial dificulties until after they got divorced. Then, they didn't have money to help me when it was time for me to go to college, etc (though my grandparents paid for all of my parents college expenses). However, I know for a fact my grandparents had it MUCH harder than I did.

Things were DIFFERENT in different eras. So when we grow up, we remember what was really tough in OUR day, and when we look around and see it's suddenly easier we accuse modern kids of being lazy. However, often the "difficult" areas of life have just shifted.

For example, 50 years ago college was entirely optional. These days? Not nearly as much.
