A couple of months ago, I moved into a new apartment without cable internet access. I have a cell phone, so I've been too cheap to get a phone line, which means no Internet because no DSL company will likely take me. Anyway, I knew this problem would be happening, so before I moved I downloaded close to 1000 Seti WU's onto my machine. I've gone through about 500 of them, but they're just sitting there. So, any word on when SETI is going to end, so I make sure I get these things in and they get counted? My apartment is right next to my college campus, and they are supposed to be hooking us into their network soon. If it will be more than a couple more months, I may just have to spring for that phone line, I'm going crazy:þ Thanks. Go TeAm!

wow, I wonder if there's more guys like you around 😀

AFAIK the end date is still up in the air but if worse comes to worse you could just write the entire seti folder to a cd, bring it to a computer that has internet access and run the driver long enough to submit the wu's.

Go to your local library. The Government... in it's vast wonderful caring way has provided you with inet access. Sneakernet the WU's and upload there. 😉

* yes... that was Irony... and a slap at Big Bro. I'm terribly underwhelmed. 🙂

You could also spend .90cents & mail those wus to someone you know. 😉 😉

Keep those wu's for yourself. Just find someone with a connection, & a willingness to let you install seti for a minute.

or happily ask them if they'll run seti for the eAm 🙂

Ever thought of using the cell phone to get on the net? I have verizon, and I get express network for free nights after 9 pm and on weekends. Speeds around 300k, which isn't quite the same as cable or dsl, but quite a bit better than dialup.
