i am experiencing some whacky blue screens the last couple of days so i started testing hardware and in doing so noticed my SATA cable for my SSD was at a goofy angle and not making good contact. would that cause blue screens?

Absolutely. It still happens on some occasions on my previous build -- it was an early implementation of SATA ports on the motherboard that don't support latching cables. Not always BSOD, but sometimes just a system freeze, drive LED on solid, etc.

Certainly. If it wasn't making good contact that could cause random bits to get flipped as they pass through the cable.

Sure- anything that causes undetected data corruption can give you symptoms like that.

no shouldn't matter all that matters is if "most" of the data gets there. :) All that should really happen is like, maybe you can only use 2/3rds the features of MS Office. Or, you can only send an email to 2/3rds of your contacts.
