So my Sony STR-DG720 only has 3 HDMI outs, and currently I am in a situation with 4 devices using HDMI. Instead of droppipng money on another receiver, and advice on which unit I should sacrifice HDMI for component with?

I have a Western Digital WD TV box, Two XBOX 360s, and my ATT Uverse cable box.

I was thinking of using component for the cable box.

Any opinions would GREATLY be appreciated.

Either drop one of your sources down to component (cable box would likely be the best as it's compressed) or get an hdmi switch.

A lot of cable boxes actually look better using component instead of HDMI so I'd try that.

You could always get an HDMI switch, oh and wrong forum.

Didn't know what forum to post the question in, sorry.

Never thought about a switch. Does that plug into one of the HDMI ports then on the receiver?

Audio/Video & Home Theater didn't seem appropriate? :p

Your Logitech remote was able to learn the remote controlled 3 way? Cool. I have a logitech remote, good to know.

There's a difference between and input and an output.

Your receiver has 3 inputs and 1 output, correct?

Does your TV have more than one HDMI input?

What about running the receiver's HDMI output to one of your TV's HDMI inputs and running HDMI from one source directly to your TV's other HDMI inputs?

Advantages:
No need to buy a switch

Disadvantages:
Might be harder to switch inputs to and from that source
Might have to re-route audio
