Question - will my motherboard support a 7990?

Silly question - I have a EVGA x58 SLI LE motherboard, and I was itching to pick up a 7990 card. Seeing as my MB manual / website only mentions SLI, would this still work in x-fire mode since it is a single GPU?

I was under the impression that all x58 chipset boards support x-fire, but I'd like to be sure.
