Question??.. what is the L2 cache setting on a classic athlon 850??

I think I know the answer...is it 1/3 and if it is and I want to overclock past this point I will need to change it to 1/2...right??

Your cache is at 2/5 default. You will want to go to 1/3 to try for a gig or better.
