I dont really know but I suspect it might be baseball.

I dont know why it would be though.

Football > Baseball

Baseball and Football are team sports.

For individual, I don't know. Is Nascar considered individual? Is it considered a sport? Is Golf considered a sport? It isn't by me...

My guess, counding only what I consider to be sports, would be Tennis.

Why is this in P&N?

I think it is Golf then followed by NASCAR.

Basketball is up there along with Football.

Baeball probably isnt as high since they have salary caps now.

There is a reason it is in P&N :) - trust me.. just for a short period of time.

I am actually thinking of a sport where you are not on a team.. You are an individual...

This event speaks a lot about Humanity in general ;)

Boxing. Especially the top heavyweights. They make quite a payday.

Are you just counting their salary or everything including endorsements? I thought that golfers aren't really paid a lot. Like maybe Tiger Woods was only paid $2 million last year, but his endorsements push him into the tens of millions.

Who pays more Nascar or Fomula 1? Just endorsements vs prize money?

I hope I am not wrong... BOXING is the sport I am thinking of..... It just seems odd that the higest paid sport is that which two humans try to beat each other so bad that one of them can no longer move..

My estimate is based on per event earnings.. not annual.

I asked a question .. I never claimed to know the exact answer ;)

What is the highest purse those race car drivers earn PER race

That is different from your original question, "highest paid individual sport" which is not per event. The highest paid athlete is a F1 race car driver as stated earlier. You still might be right as boxers may make more on an average. B/c there are a lot of race car drivers, on average most probably don't make that much...but I suppose you could say the same for boxing. ;)

The reason it somewhat pertained to P&N is because I think humanity has something messed up with it when people are paid that much to beat the sh!t out of each other and people cheer and yell for BLOOD -- MORE BLOOD ..
