question w/ dx10 next gen cards

The only issue with VGA/mobo compatibly is the slots. As long as the DX10 cards is PCI-E (I don't think there'll be a AGP DX10 card) it will work, unless your mobo is really picky.

well thats good to know because i goin to get a new pc and was wonderin about that
btw does anybodt know when am2 crossfire mobos will be out. so does the new r600/g80 cards will be combatible

I think Anandtech did a recent overview (Computex article?) that had a round up of motherboards - there might be some info about the am2 crossfire boards there?

Well if it's crossfire it'll only be compatible with the R600. You'd need an SLI AM2 board for dual g80's.

right know about the crossfire only runnin on crossfire board and sli on a sli board
btw do u kow which card g80/r600 out of pure speculation will be faster

yes, R600 will be faster, will have 42 unified pipelines, will have a 1666 core clock and a 2666 mem clock. it will also cost $490.35.

Your a tad off, rumors from the inq say its going to be have 64 unified pipes and run at 1000/1000+

Of course the new DX10 cards will run on the new AM2 sockets. These doesnt really matter as long as the motherboard supports a PCI-e slot.

Im not sure about Dual GPu solutions from the DX10 cards. I mean what if G80 releases SLi2 (non brigdeless, more improvment since SLi has been out for ~2 years or so). Same goes for R600. Im not too sure, but i bet there will be some changes.

Rumour is that september could be the launch date for NV with its new DX10 while ATi has the R570 or known as X1950XTX (X1900XTX with GDDR4 memory i belive or a faster GDDR3 memory OR a die shrink to 80nm R580)

I dont think R600 will be released til the end of year or Q1 07. You also have to expect the new R560 or also known as X1700XT hitting the streets soon. DX10 cards are still quite far away so you dont really have to worry about compatibility right now.
