I'm looking to upgrade my video card to a GAINWARD GEFORCE4 4200 128MB. Is this card worth getting? Or is there a better one? Let me know.

Las.

Which one of the rigs you gonna update? I would say right off the top of my head that the 4400 would be a great upgrade to your gaming rig! BTW, how do you like this?

Western Digital WD1200JB Special Edition 120.0 GB @ 7200 RPMS

I'm upgrading my Gaming Rig. And the video card will be either sold or trickle down to one of the other PC's.

If you are set on this:

GAINWARD GEFORCE4 4200 128MB

I would suggest waiting for a bit and see the real-world responses to the 4200. You no doubt have seen them on the 4400 and the 4600.

I have the 4600 and would not part with it..... till the next one comes out :)

I think the GF4 Ti 4200 looks great! I have a VisionTek Xtasy GeForce 4 Ti4400 and I can 120+ FPS in Jedi Knight II: Outcast and in Unreal Tournament (using Opengl mode) I get 200+ FPS!! This card rocks; however....seeing all the new upcoming vid cards debuting shortly....I would honestly wait. I would have waited too but my main problem is that if I let the money sit....someone (besides myself) will spend it for me but if you can wait then some cards boast (Matrox for one) that their new card Parhelia is over twice as fast as the fastest (GF4 Ti4600) vid card out right now! The new cards by Nvidia, ATI, Matrox and 3DLabs (Creative Labs) are all coming out with HOT cards! The 4200 would get frame rates close to what I get on my 4400...plus the 4400 can O/C to speeds of and beyond a 4600 and I'm sure the 4200 can be O/Ced to 4400 speeds but I don't O/C stuff anymore....10 more fps just can't justify putting my hardware in danger!

Thats prolly a solid card, although, are you sure you need it?;) Seriously, I'd wait. Your GF3 Ti 200 is great. Wait til this fall when NV30, R300, Parhelia, and P10 hit. They will provide a much more significant performance increase than the GF4 Ti 4200

ditto, I intended to sell my 4600 when the 4200 came out, but I think I'm gonna keep my 4600.

The thing is that I have the money now, If I wait I won't have the money anymore. Like Bowen said, if I wait someone else will spend the money for me. If the 4400 is better I will spend the extra money for it, But I can't see spending over $300 for the 4600. Because, I'm also wanting to get a faster XP CPU, like the 2000+ or 2100+.

BTW - InsaneMorphius, I love the WD 120GB SE Drive. I got it from Dell just this week.
