Question to small dog owners

I own a 2 year old Maltese (Casper) and I worry whenever I take him out for a walk during this cold winter.

I got small doggie booties, but his feet are so furry they slip off. how else can i protect his feet from the snow/ice/salt out there?

And when the weather is especially cold and bad (like it is now in NYC), do you take them out for a walk anyway? Or do you set out the newspaper?

Thanks

hm, the little booties are a good idea... can't you fasten them on somehow so they don't fall off? shoe laces for dogs? :D
maybe a little elastic or something..

Cute dog you have there !! I found out that the best dog boots have a velcro strap on topwhich helpsalot in keeping them from slipping off.

my mom has two taco bell dogs ;)

My mom lets them go out and run around in the yard for an hour or two with snow on the ground. When they get cold they bark to be let in so I think walking your dog will be fine.

my doggie booties DO have that velcro strap, but they slip off anyhow! and i fasten them all the way too. i might try putting rubber bands even (not too tight of course)
