Hi!
I recently heard that the RF711 line was pulled out of the market and now they're shipping again.
I heard that the REV_04 / stepping B2 was affected by Intel problem. Few days ago a group of polish notebookcheck forum users (yes Im from Poland) have bought RF711 and they are saying that they have REV_04/stepping B2.
So I have a question for RF711 owners from this forum: what is the revision of your hardware? Is it REV_04 ?
You can check this by typing in the windows command prompt (logged as administrator):
wmic idecontroller get deviceid
I asked Samsung but since few days I have no answer from them about this issue. So Im thinking... maybe due to this whole Intel problem Samsung did not pulled all of the RF711 and they're still in the market waiting for new customers. Or maybe they didnt pulled them all because they just want to customers do their job. Other option is that they could pull out the RF711 line and apply some reconfiguration so the HDD is at SATA0 and DVD/BR at 1 ... but what if I would like to extend my configuration up to 1TB @ 2HDD inside the RF711. I didnt find any offers with such configuration @ samsung.com... so Im just curious.
Another option is: not all of the REV_04 were affected by this intel sandy bridge problem and there is nothing to worry about.
I would be very thankful if you could say anything about this whole issue.
Thanks in advance.
PS. below Im giving you 1 screenshot from the RF711 and an extra photo (they're not mine, one of the RF711 reviewers made them).
