Is there anyway I can set up a seller account without giving them my checking account? I don't mind giving my credit card out but giving them access to my checking account, my life savings! doesn't sound like a great idea.

Im pretty sure thats only to bid on eBay. In order to have a sellers account, you have to add your checking account. I've been an eBay seller for 2 years and I haven't had a problem with eBay and my checking account :)

If you are really concerned about using your real checking account I suggest you find a bank with a $100 minimum balance and open a new account. Then even if you are defrauded the most you will lose is $100.

i've never had any problem with ebay....of all companies, i think ebay is one of those few that you wouldn't have too much troubles from. i have had my checking account with them for over 2 years, and never had any sort of problems from them....don't feel that worried about it, it will all be good

Nope. To bid all you need is an e-mail.

I've been selling for a while as well and ebay dosent touch my checking accounts for good reason.

Ebay has neither a checking account nor credit card on file for me :)

(although I've been on ebay since '98 ;))

About results: you'd be better off selling some low cost items at first to gather some good feedack and work yourself up to higher dollar items. I've sold items of over $700 on ebay without a problem...
