This, uh, guy I know has landed 2 contracts that last well into next year, hovering around the 7 figure mark, with more on the way.
What do you do to celebrate really great news?

I pop open a nice bottle of single malt and enjoy a glass or four- neat.

I remember when I got my promotion- I reclined in my chair and enjoyed a glass... sooooooooo good.

I drive an Audi :colbert:

Splurge on your friends, because it's only fun if you do it with others.

I'm boring, so I just send more money off to my brokerage account. And buy boring stock index ETF shares to hold for decades.

The Rainier cherries are good this year, maybe pick up a bag? (Woo!)

I drive an F350 :p

I try to live my life by that second statement. It's hard because my die-hard friends live 1900 miles away. Or rather, I do from them :(

Well you can always get new friends. Or do charity, but something personal. Like see a need, fill a need. Makes you feel all warm inside. Then go have a drink!

Open a beer. Of course, my "M3" is a Mazda 3, so perhaps I'm a bit below your pay grade.

LOL yeah I have a few new friends here, I still miss my originals (not to mention family).

I'm considering doing a habitat house, all my guys are totally willing to donate time for it as we've all done volunteer stuff/mission stuff. If it works good, maybe one per year who knows.

Also, Oakheart is amazing. Don't laugh, I went through about 9 different rums looking for a good one and this one is smoothly awesome.

Yeah I did something for habitat for humanity once. LOTS of people showed up for it, so you felt good about helping someone out but didn't even require that much effort. Amazing how much better the world would be if it was always like that.

I second the "spending on friends" idea.

How about select 3 of your best friends and then...

1. Buy 4x Biz/First Class tickets to Munich around the end of September.
2. Book a few rooms at the Munich downtown Hilton.
3. Enjoy a few days at the Oktoberfest.
4. Rent 2-4x Porsches from SIXT.
5. Drive the Alps. Head down to Austria? Italy? Find some nice B&Bs. Do some hiking.

(Have done the above. Thanks to a wealthy best friend.)

I love to travel so I would have negotiated some time off before I start the new job go traveling.

It's always nice to come back to the M3 to drive it about after spending up to 10hrs on a cramp mini van! I spent a chunk of my time on aircon luxory buses in central america as well as chicken buses :p

I treat my mates to nice meals out. It's always good to share with mates.

Just make sure your hookers to blow ratio is proper and the good times will take care of themselves.
