Question regarding Video Card Upgrade

Hello,

I've a cheap-budget desktop and would like to upgrade the onboard graphics with the BFG 9800GT EcoIntelligence Low Power Design.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143186

Will the card be compatible with the motherboard and case? Also, BFG website said the card doesn't require a power connector, so I'm wondering if I still need to upgrade my PSU (which I would like to avoid)?

Below are my specs:

Motherboard: MSI G31M3-L 775
CPU: Intel Dual-Core E5300 2.6Ghz
GPU: Integrated on-board graphics
PSU: 300W (some generic brand)
Case: Foxconn TLM-263 Mini-Tower
Memory: 3Gb DDR2 800Mhz
Monitor: 22" HannsG LCD

Thanks.

I forgot to mention I also 1 Hard Drive & 1 DVD Burner, will it cause any issue?

There's also a 1GB Version of the card, is there any noticeable difference with 512MB?

Thanks for your help happy.

it will probably be fine but you will be be pushing that generic psu close to its limits on the 12v line. it may be rated for 15 amps but I can assure you that cheap psu doesnt make that if it was tested in real world conditions even when brand new.
