Question regarding VCore Voltage

I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced a problem with an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe V2.0 Mobo setting the VCore voltage higher than the stock voltage?

I have a 2500+ Barton (unlocked) which usually runs a 1.64VDC stock VCore. All of the sudden the voltage is being set at 1.90 VDC. I tried to set it manually but I can't adjust the setting when I change the VCore selection to Menu. This increase in voltage is sending my CPU temperature skyrocketing to about 56C idle. At the current time I am not overclocking the chip or FSB.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

How in the hell is it at 1.9V!??? Dude thats really high, Im surprised your able to keep it alive with out burning it out letalone 56C. Well have you tried resetting the bios? Ive' been in a situation where the mobo was acting funny, One time I put a powerleap adapter 1.4GHZ CPU into a machine that obviously doesnt support it because of the 66MHZ FSB and this adapter was 100. Anyways I put it in, came up some 333MHZ in bios and windows as well. Removed it and put back in original and detected it all wrong like a Pentium II 133MHZ. Everything was all wrong (Normall PII 300MHZ), ran windows booted slower than you could possibly imagine like 50mins (NOT KIDDING!) and was detected as a PII 133. Switched it around with like a 1GHZ PIII got it to say 300MHZ or 233 or somin. Switched it with like every Slot compatible processor I had. Changed some bios settings for speed and eventually the Original processor's speed was detected correctly/Ran correctly. I know what I said may seem irrelevant but what I'm saying is that tweak the Bios or reset it. If that doesnt work, try switching it with different processor that will fit if you can. Eventuall it Might go back to the 1.64v core your looking for. Good luck! BTW with the processor detection in my other system, I tried resetting it and wouldnt fix it so thats why I went through all I mentioned above.

Thanks for the advice. Something which struck me funny was my 2 CPU temperatures were about 10C out from each other. So I removed the HSF and cleaned/reapplied the silver thermal paste. When I rebooted, I noticed the voltage dropped down to a respectable 1.7 VDC and the temperatures are now more within each other, 41C and 43C at this moment.

I also took your advice and upgraded the BIOS to the latest version. We shall see if this holds out. I only installed this motherboard about 3 weeks ago, so maybe something came loose? I am not sure but I am sure keeping my fingers crossed!
