Hey guys,
I purchased an Ahtlon 2100+ Thoroughbred. I was reading an article at modthebox.com that mention that AMD FSB was 133mhz except for Thoroughbreds, they ran at 166mhz, or 333. Is this true for all thoroughbreds? I was under the impression that mine was still a 266FSB. Gee, i hope it is? Can i safely try?
Thanks again guys,
Rob

Yeah, the Athlon XP line (including T-bred) is almost all 133 MHz FSB, including yours. The only chips which run on a 166 MHz FSB are the XP 2700+ and certain 2600+ and 2800+ cores. Also, all Barton chips (XP with 512K L2 cache) run at a 166 MHZ FSB.

However, you can overclock your CPU to run at a 166 MHz FSB no problem (or even lower the multiplier to get a high FSB on the same clock speed). I have a Tbred A 1700+ (1.466 GHz) that I run at 11X 166MHz FSB for 1.83 GHz. I also ordered a 2100+ for even more speed ;) .
