Question regarding the sniper for those who live in the DC area

At 7:41 a.m. Oct. 3, the next victim was hit, while mowing grass along Rockville Pike in White Flint. A cabdriver was cut down at an Aspen Hill gas station 31 minutes later, and 25 minutes after that, a woman was shot while sitting on a bench in Silver Spring. At 9:58 a.m., another woman, at a gas station in Silver Spring, fell dead.

How likely is it that one person could have been responsible for so many shootings in such a short period of time??? How close are the areas described? Just curious because I've heard speculation that there could be multiple snipers . . .

I don't think there was ever any implication that they weren't together if more than one.

I am not from the Beltway, but the original killing area of our sniper was only about 2-2.5 miles in diameter. I may have the measurements wrong, but I believe them to be correct.

The locations of these 4 shootings were pretty close together... It is definitely possible for 1 individual to drive to these locations with that time frame and shoot these victims...

Thanks, that was the main thrust of my question.

According to a friend that was working in the area that day, the locations are about 3 blocks apart from each other. But I dont spend much time up there so I cant give you a definite answer. Check Yahoo! Maps ;)

Yes BCYL is right. I lived in the area and my mother still lives behind the Mobil Gas station.

It is not tht far it is in a circle.

If there were multiple snipers wouldn't the ballastic evidence show so?

They are all within a 2-3 miles of each other, and he didn't have to travel anymore than 1 mile between the scenes.

<---- From Arlington

n0cmonkey: They are more than 3 blcoks apart, but not too much more.

I think the only thing that's likely is that the same gun was used. There could be more than one person using the same weapon, but I'd like to think there's only one nutcase involved here.

That's impossible since every gun has its own unique bullet "thumbprint". so it has to be the same person/gun

Lol, do you have any idea what you just said? It only has to be the same gun. The fingerprint does not change weather I fire it or my dog does.

I was just comparing the markings on a fired bullet are as unique as the markings thumbprint. That's why I put it in quotes;)
