Question regarding the installation of IOMEGA 12x10x32x cdrw from compusa

quick installation question, Do I have to install the zipcd software first before connecting the cdrw with ide cables? Thx. I must know because I currently dont have a cdrom to install the drivers for it.

Not sure if you need the software at all... don't you just need just the drivers if any? I don't think burners have drivers right? When I installed my TDK, I didn't have to install any drivers. And you only have to install the 'software' if you want to use Iomega's burning program. Or you could just grab Nero, Adaptec, or the loads of other burner software available...
