Hello -- I've just received my new motherboard and was prepping my case for when the rest of my parts arrive for building, and two of the little 'finger' things that are supposed to provide a good connection from the motherboard connectors on the back to the case have been broken off. They were barely hanging on and they snapped off with just a little movement.

Should I be concerned, or will it not be a problem? The fingers in question are the ones for the USB and 1394 ports.

I'm not sure about what your talking about ... but if I'm right, then there are some of those that are designed to stay, and some designed to snap off to make room for the slots.

I've been running one of my comps without any I/O bracket at all; it won't fit.

The little bendable metal 'fingers' on the panel that comes with the motherboard, which you insert into the back of the case to make the proper holes for your connections. I had always thought they were unimportant, but I was reading something in Mechbgon's guide the other day that mentioned what they are for. I just want to be safe.

If they are only for EMI (and don't have anything to do with the physical mounting of the board) you should be fine.
