Question regarding taking shoes off inside the house for non asians

Do non-asian people feel weird when they go to an asian friends house and have to take off their shoes? Personally, since I'm asian, I feel funny in anyone's house if I don't take off my shoes.

I don't, but I had a friend with really horrible foot odor who was always very embarrassed by it.

no
i take mine off at home
i am non-asian
it just helps keep the floors cleaner and i like to be barefoot inside anyway

I'm not Asian, but I don't feel comfortable walking around anyone's house w/ shoes on. 🙂

I take off my shoes regardless of ethnicity. I am not asian.

You got the idea for this thread from mine.

Are you the socks man? then yes... hahaha

I only ask because I have never been to an asian home where people walk around with shoes. It seems that it is enforced in just about 100% of asian homes.

i have two houses, the new house where you could walk around with shoes.

the other, i provide slippers, imported from taiwan.

note to self, buy more slippers for the new house.

I take them off in my home generally, but not as a rule. I take them off in other people's homes if they ask. Either way I am comfortable. And I am non-Asian.
