I never owned and planning to be one of a MP3 player owner. A question flash across my mind and I'm being rude and ignorant by speaking it out loud. Let say I've successfully burned a CD full of Mp3 in folders and many sub-directories. When I load the CD into the MP3 player, will it detect all of the MP3 files or will it only detect those files in the root directory ???

It varies from player to player. Most will find mp3's in one level of folders but probably not 5 folders deep.

Many cheaper players don't understand "joliet" long file names, and use DOS 8.3 11-character names instead.

Many players don't read the "id3" tag information (artist, title, track number) embedded inside the files.

You'd need to read a good review of a specific player and / or visit the manufacturer website to see exactly what it supports. Amazon user reviews can also be helpful.

FYI, one of the best is the iRiver IMP-350 SlimX CD/MP3 Player with FM Tuner, $139 at buy.com before a $20 rebate (ends 12-31).

Also, CD-MP3 players are not really suited for jogging / running -- for those you should get a flash memory based player.

My iRiver IMP-350 Slimx is GREAT. Best $200(At the time) Ive ever spent! I have all of my music organized by tags and folders and it reads them flawlessly. Plus you can get ~150 Mp3's per CD which is great. And it's very small so I can fit it easily into my cargo / back pants pocket. I highly recommend it
