Question regarding SMP and Seti 3.0

My understanding is that the new version of the S@H client(3.0) is STILL(grrrr..) not SMP compliant; that being the case, how are folks handling the issue of dual(or more) cpu machines? I have at least a half dozen boxes and am wondering if I can run 2 instances of the GUI on the dual boxes, or if I should continue to use the 2.x CMD-LINE client. Is there going to be at CMD-LINE version of the 3.0 client available?

I have never been able to run 2 gui's at once. 2 cli's work, but on my system (dual 550E's on a supermicro p6dgs) the fastest combo has been one cli and one gui. I cache them with setiq and also use setispy for progress reports. Hope this helps.

I'm sure there will be a v3.0 text client. I hope it comes out sooner rather than latter. I personally am waiting on it before upgrading my clients.

As PhotoLenny said the fastest combo has been 1 gui and 1 text client. 2 gui clients are possible, or so I have been told. I have no idea of how to do it though. I believe you have to edit the registry or something. As bad as I hate to say it, go to ars seti forum and look around, I know there are several threads telling how to run 2 gui clients.🙂
