What kind of cable connects to the S/PDIF on this?

the only S/PDIF cable I can find is coax, and that doesn't look like coax, and I'm glad because I'm already using the coax digital in on my HT receiver.

Questions are: what kind of cable connects to that, and where can I get one?

It's an optical TOS-Link connector... getting one is easy.

SPDIF is just the protocol used but there are 2 connectors: Electrical (coax) and optical (TOS-Link). You can also get optical > electrical converters if the signals have to go a long distance. Annother thing that works (when it's electrical): You can use one of those wireless TV bridges that you can find at an electronics store with SPDIF. It uses the same frequencies as a normal TV broadcast does so it gets transmitted without hiccups. Pretty nifty to hook up a PC to a DTS receiver that is on the other side of a large room.

any recommendations? I'm not in a hurry so I don't need to go to a B&M store. Would RShack overcharge? any online store good? or will just finding the cheapest on ebay be fine?

will be used for computer -> receiver.

buy from ebay.

you can get an 6-9ft Acoustic Reasearch for under 10 bucks.

I use one of these to connect pc to home theater.

sounds good. Now I just need a s-video cable. any recommendations on those?

btw: there is a standard right? if a video card has tv-out then the same cable will work just the same as another card with tv-out?

Get it on ebay too.
Svideo cable is about the same price as optical cable.

I bought one of each on the same day.
I'm sure this guy has more. He sells both optical and svid. Make sure you browse all his auctions and pick out the one with the cheapest buy it now.
He also combines shipping so purchasing both with save you like 4-5 bucks.
