Question regarding Microsoft Server OS upgrade

Hello,

as the upgrade price to Server 2003 is significantly less than the full version, I'd like to try this route for our new server. However, I'm curious, is a clean install possible when dealing with upgrades?

During installation of the Server 2003, does it simply require the presence of the install Server 2000 install CD, does it need detect the current server on the network, etc?

Please share your knowledge. And if you need clarification, just let me know and I'll try to help.

Thank you very much!

I'm pretty sure you can do a clean install of Server 2003 SBE so long as you have the 2000 SBE media available (just like other windows upgrades).
